Member-owners of Alaska’s electrical cooperatives have the opportunity to choose their energy futures by voting. This page will feature news of the Spring 2025 utility board elections for the Railbelt co-ops. Stay tuned for candidate questionnaires, election results, and other news.

2025 Railbelt elections at a glance
MEA Elections
Members in the Matanuska District reelected Director Mark Masteller to a new four-year term.
Arthur Keyes, who ran unopposed, won reelection to his At-Large seat for a four-year term.
In 2026, MEA members will elect a director representing the Eagle River District and on At-Large director.

HEA Elections
In District 1, Wayne Ogle won reelection.
In District 2, Dan Furlong won reelection,
In District 3, Erin McKittrick won reelection.
In 2026, members will elect one director for each district.
2025 Railbelt elections at a glance
CEA Elections
CEA members elected Katherine Jernstrom to serve as 4-year term on the CEA Board.
Members also approved a bylaws change that expanded the window during which CEA can hold its annual meeting.
Chugach members will elect two directors in 2026, for the seats currently held by Sisi Cooper and Rachel Morse.
GVEA Elections
Members in GVEA’s District 6 elected John Sloan to a 3-year term on the GVEA Board. Bradley Swope, the sole candidate in District 5, was appointed to a 3-year term.
GVEA members in Districts 1, 2, and 3 will elect directors in 2026 (these seats are currently held by Dave Messier, Tom DeLong, and Rick Solie).
